How we Quadrupled our closet space: Featuring Modular Closets

A walking closet was on our "would like to have but not MUST" list when we were house hunting.

Ideally, I wanted enough space not only for hanging clothes but also for pull out drawers and shoe storage. When we fell in love with our home and it didn't have a walking closet I knew that a closet renovation was going to be on our honey do-list.

The research for an all-inclusive closet system began.

We looked at basic closet packages locally and then expanded our search online. I came across Modular Closets on Instagram after a friend of mine posted photos of her Modular Closets - instant LOVE!

I bombarded my friend with questions and it was without a doubt that I had to contact Modular Closets. The company was a pleasure to work with from the start. Very responsive to my hundreds of questions and concerns. They helped Tom and I figure out what closet system would work best in our master bedroom, including helping us with measurements and even customizing certain pieces to get us the look we wanted.

(Oh and they're custom designs are TOTALLY FREE!)

The statement piece I love most about this renovation is our DIY farmhouse closet doors and Modular Closets could customize our closets in a way that would allow for the doors to open nicely but also provide great storage and space for all the clothes, shoes and much more that we would be storing!

The closest were so easy to put together; all we needed was a screwdriver! It took us about a day to assemble and let me tell you they are very heavy and very good quality because they are made of ¾" plywood; which is why it took us a while because we hung them into studs to be safe! We initially had a specific layout for our closets and as we were putting them together we decided to change our design.{this is why I truly love Modular Closets}.We contacted the company and told them we changed our mind on the design and they quickly helped us change the design and sent us one extra piece we needed! How amazing is that? The versatility of their product is great; the arrangement is so flexible that you can literally design your dream closet in minutes.

Okay fine there is one more thing that is BEST OF ALL. Our closet and storage space has doubled in size ON EACH SIDE. So that's kind of like having 4 closets compared to 2. My husband said that I shouldn't consider this as a sign to shop more, but I disagree.
